Guided by a deep sense of purpose and a lifelong passion for learning and empowering others, Dr Amy-Jo Lynch, PhD, founded Be Your Own Date in 2021. Drawing inspiration from her life and career experiences, she envisioned and created a supportive, nurturing space. Here, you will be encouraged to focus on yourself, be kind to yourself, get to know yourself better and, ultimately, date yourself! This experience is complemented by access to personalised coaching with Amy-Jo and enriched by her original, uplifting and informative content covering all things self-care and wellbeing.

With Be Your Own Date, Amy-Jo is cultivating a community and platform for empowerment, placing a spotlight on self-care and wellbeing guidance and inspiration. Recognising the interconnectedness of personal and professional wellbeing, she is particularly excited about supporting you to consider and pursue your goals through a personalised online coaching programme. Coaching conversations are an effective way to help you take meaningful steps toward making positive changes in your life and work, improving overall wellbeing and self-care. They also contribute to boosting confidence and reconnecting to your purpose for future success.

Amy-Jo's person-centred approach involves a unique assessment that considers different aspects of wellbeing and self-care, setting the scene for greater fulfilment. Who is Amy-Jo?

Amy-Jo is a Wellbeing Coach, Facilitator, Blogger and Recovering Perfectionist who enjoys making meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. Her dedication to holistic wellbeing and personal growth is clear, as she guides and supports individuals to gain a sense of balance and purpose through her coaching practice, small group facilitation and content creation.

Leading with compassion, curiosity and courage, Amy-Jo is recognised for her commitment to championing diversity in leadership and the workplace. For example, her tenure at a global executive search firm, where she served as a Senior Consultant, Mental Health Lead and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead. It was during this time that she felt inspired to create the BME Leadership Network for aspiring and accomplished leaders across academia and industry.

Amy-Jo holds a PhD in Psychology, is recognised as a Chartered Psychologist by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Qualified Mindfulness Life Coach. Alongside coaching in private practice, she enjoys being a Care Coach for global members on the BetterUp platform from diverse backgrounds, industries, perspectives and levels of seniority. Her extensive career spans the public, voluntary and private sectors.

Before entering the corporate world, focusing on senior executive and leadership support, Amy-Jo thoroughly enjoyed a rewarding career working in mental health and social care with adults, young people and children. She continues to serve as an Advisory Board Member committed to youth empowerment and, until recently, as a Non-Executive Director within the sports sector and Governor at a large London secondary school which exists to ensure that its young people can experience "life in all its fullness".

Outside of work, Amy-Jo enjoys soy chai lattes, budgeting for all sorts of things, solo travel and shared adventures (especially in Latin America), learning Spanish, live music, watching content on tiny homes and small spaces, mindfulness practice, using the Wellbeing Planner that she has lovingly crafted, spending time with loved ones, and being in the sun and by water.
